Response™ Software
Top of Page
How do I install the
program?
There is no installation necessary - the easy-to-use Quick Response™
Software runs right from the CD! Once you insert the CD into your
CD-ROM drive, the program will start automatically in about 5
seconds. The small CD fits into a standard CD-ROM tray, its edges
resting on the inner, recessed area. On laptops, simply snap it over
the center hub.

Can I run the program without the CD in the CD-ROM drive?
Since we don't install the Quick Response™ Software on your
computer, the CD must be in the drive for the program to work. If
you've updated any information and saved it to your hard drive, the
CD then works with your saved data and the latest information is
what will be displayed, sent with emergency email, added to the
NCMEC forms, posters and flyers.

Can
I save updated information for more than one child?
Yes. You need to insert the DIGIKIDS® CD for each child before
saving. The updates are saved in separate folders.

I don't have an email program on my computer, will the email program
still work?
Yes. Our program has its own email program built in. All you need is
a computer with access to the Internet.

Can I send emergency email to a mobile phone?
Yes. Any cell phone that can receive email (Smartphone) can also receive an
emergency email from the DIGIKIDS® CD. The Flyer will appear on the
screen and all files will be attached. If you have a Smartphone we
suggest that you send an emergency email to yourself that you can
immediately forward right from the phone.

Do
I need to attach any files to emergency email?
The program automatically attaches the most current information
files, including both photos, the poster and flyer, all identifying
information and the NCMEC forms if you've completed those prior to
sending. All you need to do is type in the email address or
addresses where you want the emergency email to be sent. The flyer
appears in the body of the email or on the screen of a mobile phone.

Can I remove any saved or updated data from the computer's hard
drive?
Yes. Navigate to the Edit Information Page and choose 'Remove Data'.
The program will automatically remove any data that you've saved to
the computer's hard drive. The information and photos on the
DIGIKIDS® CD will not be changed. This is an especially useful
feature if you've used a public computer to report your child
missing, and want to remove all of the data so that no one has
access to it.

information on the CD including any updated or added information
that you've entered and saved. From the Emergency page, simply click
on Poster or Flyer for the one you want.

General Questions
Top of Page
Will the CD work with a Macintosh (MAC) Computer?
The Quick Response™ Software is designed to work on Windows®
computers (PC's) with tray type CD ROM drives as shown. If your
MAC has a tray CD ROM the CD should work fine. Either way,
your child's photos, posters and identifying information that are sent with
emergency email or to mobile phones are universal and
will work in any computer.

In a missing child emergency, can I just hand the DIGIKIDS® CD to
police?
Yes. The CD includes complete instructions for law enforcement to
use quickly in an emergency. If you have a smart phone we
suggest that you send an emergency email to yourself that you can
immediately forward right from the phone.

Will the CD report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited
Children (NCMEC)?
Yes. The Quick Response™ Software guides you through a few quick
steps. We automatically complete the NCMEC forms
(including any last minute information you've added about your child
and events surrounding the missing child emergency), attach the
necessary files including both high resolution photos, identifying
and medical information and then send an emergency email formatted
for use by the NCMEC. The entire process should take less than
five-minutes.

Will your program report my missing child to the AMBER Alert System?
Yes. If the AMBER Alert program in your area is able to take digital
files attached to an email message, (like most TV and radio
stations) you or the police can use the CD to automatically send
everything they need to broadcast physical descriptions and high
resolution photos of your missing child including both the poster
and flyer, and any last minute information you've added about your
child and events surrounding the actual emergency.

Can I add last minute information about my child in a missing child
emergency?
Yes. Police will need a detailed description of what your child was
wearing including the location your child was last seen and any
other special information about the missing child emergency before
they can begin a search for your child. With our Quick Response™
Software you can easily add any last minute information to send with
emergency email. The
updated information is automatically added to the posters and
flyers.

Troubleshooting

CD doesn't start automatically when inserted into CD-ROM drive.
The small CD fits into a standard CD-ROM tray, its edges resting on
the inner, recessed area. On laptops, snap it over the center hub.
If the program doesn't start automatically within about 5 seconds,
check to see that you have the CD loaded in the CD-ROM drive
properly. To start the program manually, navigate to your CD-ROM
drive and double-click the CD icon. If you have auto run disabled on
your computer, when you click on the CD icon it will open a folder
with a number of files. Click on Autorun.hta to start the program.

Poster or flyer
prints on two pages.
The poster and flyer are both formatted to print on standard letter
size paper (8-1/2 X 11) with the margins set to .5 inch. Most
printers default to these settings. To check yours, go to Page Setup
and make sure the side and top margins are set to .5 before
printing. If you would like to print larger posters or flyers than
you can make from your home computer, take the CD to any quick print center such as FedEx
Kinko's.

Microsoft download warning when trying to view the NCMEC release
forms.
According to where the security settings for your Internet Browser
are set, or which version browser you are using, you may get a
warning before viewing the NCMEC forms similar to a download warning
you see when downloading files from the Internet. If you get the
warning, choose 'Open' or 'OK' and the forms will display normally.
NOTE: The forms are completed automatically by the program, and you
only need to display the forms if you want to print or review them
prior to sending to the NCMEC.
